Before your first visit:
After scheduling your initial visit, you will receive an email with a thorough intake form to get an overall view of your health. We ask that you provide as much detail in your paperwork to help Dr. York get a full picture of your history & tailor your care specifically to you for your individual health goals. You must have the paperwork filled out before your first visit to the office or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Day 1:
Your first visit is all about YOU. We will go over your health history to see how we can best serve you in your health & healing goals while under care. Dr. York will do an examination including range of motion, orthopedic testing & a full neurological evaluation by use of this incredible piece of technology called the INSiGHT scans. This neurologically based technology allows us to accurately assess the health & function of the nervous system, removing all of the guess work! Traditionally, Chiropractic has focused primarily on spinal alignment, but at York Chiropractic & Wellness, we place the highest value on finding out how significant & severe the “stress patterns” in your nervous system are, as well as finding where they are primarily located. This gives us the clinical confidence to customize a care plan for you based off the level of function of your nervous system. Also, this neuroTECH is non-radiative, noninvasive and safe for all ages! Once the diagnostics are completed, then you will receive your first adjustment. Please allow 1 hour for this appointment.
Day 2:
At the time of your second visit, Dr. York will review your exam & scan findings, along with your care goals. She will present the care plan she has created based off the recommendations specific to your nervous system needs. During this time, you may ask any questions that you have about your care plan. You will also receive a second adjustment at this visit. Please allow for 30-45 minutes for this appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
We choose to be a direct pay office because we truly do have you & your family’s health as our top priority! This means care recommendations are based on what’s best for you, not what is determined by an insurance company. In general, insurance companies are not focused on preventative or wellness services, for the most part covering services that are an emergency or reactive situation. Obviously, there is a time, place & understandable need for those circumstances, but we have to realize the truth is, what our culture calls “health” care, is actually more based off “sick” care. It’s mostly about suppressing symptoms & ignoring the underlying cause. At York Chiropractic & Wellness, we are committed to a vitalistic model that addresses the underlying causes of your symptoms with gentle and specific nervous system centered chiropractic.
Another reason we have chosen to be a direct pay office is because most insurance policies do not cover chiropractic care for children. We look at pediatric chiropractic care as the most preventative measure of health & are unwilling to exclude this segment of the population that chiropractic care can impact & benefit the most! It is, and always will be, more effective and less costly to grow healthy children than to repair damaged adults.
The great news is that by choosing not to work with insurance companies, this allows us to offer a variety of payment options. Although our prices are usually the same as your co-pay if your insurance plan even has chiropractic coverage, we are happy to provide the necessary documentation for your insurance if you are willing to submit it to them directly for any possible reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA forms of payment in our office. Ultimately, we are here to serve & never want finances to be a hindrance to finding the hope, help and answers you’ve been searching for.
